The CR1 and CR2 have several important main differences. The CR1 is a generic module which uses a quality analogue circuit and technology. The CR1 is a standard system and the same unit is used for all common rail diesel engines. The only part that differs is the harness we supply which is dependant on the engine type you have. It uses OE equipment to allow for plug in installation. Adjustment of the CR1 is by an internal trimmer which is turned anti clockwise for increased power and clockwise for less power. It comes with a 2 year product warranty. The CR2 is the next step up. Its computer controlled and uses a high quality digital circuit and is programmed with a specific software map for the engine it is to be fitted to. Different engines require different software maps and the CR2 must be reprogrammed if it is to be changed over to a different car. It also uses OE equipment to allow for plug in installation. Adjustment is by turning the rotary switch, or by moving the jumper pin to increase/decrease power. The CR2 is particularly suited to high performance engines, new Euro 4 engines, and engines that use a DPF (diesel particulate filter). The CR2 often out performs the stated figures and that of the CR1. It comes with a 3 year product warranty. Back |
